Airfix 02316 – DUKW Amphibious Vehicle
Discover the Airfix 02316 DUKW, a 1:76 scale model kit depicting one of the most recognisable amphibious vehicles of the Second World War. This sealed kit is an interesting addition to a military vehicle collection and a great subject for enthusiasts of historic transport and military modelling.
The DUKW was developed in the United States during the early 1940s to transport troops, equipment and supplies across both land and water. Based on the GMC CCKW military truck, it featured a watertight hull, a propeller and a rudder, allowing it to move from the sea directly onto a beach. Its versatility made it particularly valuable during amphibious operations, including the Allied landings in Normandy in June 1944.
DUKW vehicles played an important logistical role throughout the war, helping deliver essential supplies to troops operating near coastlines and across difficult terrain. Their distinctive shape and practical design have made them a popular subject among military vehicle historians and scale model collectors.
This Airfix kit offers collectors the opportunity to add a classic amphibious military vehicle to their collection. The sealed packaging makes it an appealing choice for enthusiasts looking for an older Airfix model kit.
