Hobby Boss 81716 – Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 1:48
The Hobby Boss 81716 Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 is a 1:48 scale plastic model kit depicting one of Germany’s most recognisable fighter aircraft from the Second World War. This sealed kit is an excellent addition to a collection of military aircraft models and is suitable for aviation enthusiasts, model builders and historical collectors.
The Fw 190D-9, commonly known as the “Dora,” was a development of the Fw 190 fighter family. Unlike earlier versions equipped with a radial engine, the D-9 featured a longer nose housing a liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 213 engine. This distinctive design helped improve its performance, particularly at higher altitudes, during the later stages of the war.
With its characteristic streamlined fuselage, detailed wings and recognisable Luftwaffe markings depicted on the box artwork, this aircraft makes an interesting subject for a Second World War modelling project. The 1:48 scale offers a good balance between display size and model detail, making it suitable for display cabinets or aviation dioramas.
